Admission (Full-time degree)
Here you can find information about how to apply for admission to an international bachelor’s degree at Zealand.
Apply online
You have to apply online at www.optagelse.dk between February 1st and March 15th at 12.00 noon.
If you do not have a Danish CPR-number (ID-number), you must log in with your e-mail address and print out, sign and submit the Signature Page to apply@zealand.dk before March 15 at 12.00 noon. Your application process is not completed until the Signature Page is received at Zealands Admissions Office. Please read this for more information.
On July 28th, we publish available places on our website. You can apply for an available place through nemStudie.
How to follow the status of your application
Once you have applied for admission, you can follow the progress of your application on nemStudie Here you will also receive and be able to send messages from/to Zealand about your application.
You will receive a notification via email if you get new messages from Zealand on nemStudie. It is your responsibility as an applicant to keep yourself informed about your application through nemStudie. Notifications may end up in your spam filter, so make sure to check it.
Acceptance letter
On July 28, you will receive the final decision on whether you have been offered a study place or not at
nemStudie.
Remember to confirm/decline your study place
If you have been offered a study place through
nemStudie.dk, it is very important that you confirm the offered study place within the stated deadline.
If you do not confirm the offered study place within the stated deadline, the study place will be withdrawn.
Admission requirements
When you apply for a program at Zealand, you must make sure you fulfil the admission requirements. Please note, that besides the general admission requirements that applies for all our programs, there are also specific requirements for each program regarding the level of English and Mathematics.
Admission requirements for Architectural Technology and Construction Management
- Upper secondary school leaving certificate/high school exam
+ Mathematics C (= 125 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
- The International Baccalaureate
+ Mathematical Studies, standard level (SL)
- European Baccalaureate
+ Mathematics S4-S5 (6 hours)
- The Danish Admission course for Engineering programs
- Relevant vocational education within the following area:
- Construction
- House painting
- Architectural joining
- Bricklaying
- Roofing
- Stonemasonry
- Technical insulation
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- 3-year vocational education
+ Mathematics C (= 125 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
Admission requirements for Cyber Security
- Upper secondary school leaving certificate/high school exam
+ Mathematics B (= 250 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
+ English B (= 210 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
- The International Baccalaureate
+ Mathematical Studies, standard level (SL)
- European Baccalaureate
+ Mathematics – mandatory 3 hours
- 3-year vocational education
+ Mathematics B (= 250 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
+ English B (= 210 instructional hours of 60 minutes each in total for the last 3 years of high school)
Please note that the English requirements cannot be replaced by an English test, as English B is a specific requirement for admission to the program, whether it is the Danish- or English-taught version.
Special application info for non-EU applicants
Application fee
If you are a citizen from a non-EU/EEA country and do not hold a Danish residence permit, which gives the right to study in Denmark for free, you have to pay an application fee. The application fee is a one-time payment of EUR .
The fee must be paid when you send your application and no later than 15 March.
If you get a study place and accept it, the application fee will be deducted from your first-year tuition fee.
If you do not accept or decline an offer, if you are not admitted or cancel your application, the application fee will not be refunded.
- Procedure for payment of application fee
If you are required to pay an application fee it is mandatory to upload a copy of the bank receipt to your application.
Please note that it may take up to 10 working days from the day you make the payment until we receive the payment.
The payment can be transferred through a bank transfer or Mobile Pay.
- Information for bank transfer
The application fee is 200 euro. All bank transfer fees must be charged to you. The application fee is paid to our bank account:
Make sure that your transfer has the following payment reference: Full name of applicant – date of birth.
- Payment via MobilePay
If you are already living in Denmark, you may transfer the application fee via MobilePay to XX.
Tuition fee
Tuition fee applies for certain non-EU applicants depending on your residence status. All students who are required to get a residence permit for studies need to pay a tuition fee for studying at Zealand.
Non-EU applicants residing outside Denmark must prepay the tuition fee for the first academic year (two semesters). International students already residing in Denmark must prepay the tuition fee for the first semester.

Residence permit
If you are a non-EU citizen and do not hold a valid Danish residence permit, you have to apply for a residence permit for studies in Denmark.
If you are offered admission to the program you applied for and have paid first year of the tuition fee, Zealand will fill in the first part of an application form (ST1) and contact you to fill in your part. It is your responsibility to fulfill the requirements for residence permit but Zealand will assist you in the process.

Appeals
If your application has been rejected, you have the possibility to appeal.
You can appeal if you believe that the decision is in violation of applicable administrative law.
If you wish to appeal, you may send your appeal to
apply@zealand.dk no later than two weeks after you have received the decision.
