Studying for a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, you develop innovative designs, web applications and systems. You explore and experience new technologies and gain skills to work independently across platforms, applications and media. You will be working with the latest knowledge at a high theoretical level, rooted in actual, practical and business-related issues.

The course gives you a thorough knowledge of both back-end and front-end programming and coding, databases, development environments, XML, content management systems (CMS), web communication and network sociology.

In web development, you can help create projects within:

  • Interface design, app-design, tablets, mobiles etc.
  • Internet of Things – programming of robots, laser cutter, 3-D printer etc.
  • Virtual Reality – development of applications for VR, sounds, 3-D experiences.

Professional Bachelor in Web Development is a postgraduate degree and admission requires AP diploma in multimedia design or computer science (or equivalent). All classes and materials are in English.

Programme description

Web Development is a 1.5 year programme consisting of a series of compulsory subjects and elective subjects. There is an obligatory three month internship period during the 3rd semester.

You will learn subjects such as backend-/frontend programming, databases and XML, interface design and digital aesthetics, project management, advanced media technologies, web communication and network sociology, CMS, and development environments.

You can specialize in project management, cyber-security, or interface design and media technologies. Classes are in English.

Admission requirements

For admission to the bachelor top-up programme in Web Developmen, the following educational qualifications are required:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS – PBA WEB DEVELOPMENT

  • AP Degree in Computer Science or
  • AP Degree in Multimedia Design and Communication

You can also apply for admission with other degrees. The application will then be considered on equal terms with other applications if Zealand consider that you have qualifications corresponding to the above mentioned degrees.

Test results must not be more than two years old at the time of application.

An applicant may ask for an exemption concerning the English test, if he/she has acquired sufficient English proficiency in other ways, e.g. native speakers, extended work/studies in an English speaking country, the International or the European Baccalaureate.

If the applicant has studied his/her AP degree entirely in English, he/she is also exempt from an English test. This may be documented by either a diploma supplement stating that the language of instruction is English, or by a letter from the school where the applicant is currently studying for an AP degree.

Curriculum
Internship

All full-time programmes at Zealand contain an obligatory internship period that lasts between 10 and 40 weeks.

The internship period’s length and placement during the programme depend on the programme, but the internship is usually placed during the last semester of the programme and will be followed by your final exam project.

Public transportation discount

You can apply for public transportation discount if you are enrolled as a full time student at a higher education programme. All students, regardless of origin, can apply for an “ungdomskort” (youth card); however, you will need to have a CPR number (Danish social security number) in order to apply.
