Zealand International Week
We are delighted to welcome you to our first International Week: Embedding sustainability into existing curriculum
In our dynamic world, the pursuit of a sustainable future appears as a dominant challenge for humanity and thus emerge as one of the foremost pressing mandates. There is no question that this requires adjustment in both our behaviour and mindset. And to realize this transformation in reaching for a more sustainable society, we certainly need new skills, values and attitudes.
This alarming context of modern society undeniably challenges the role of higher education institutions all over the world. We must respond to this pressing need by increasing students’ awareness of the local, regional and global contexts in which they/we live in. Higher institutions must rapidly define and/or adjust their learning objectives, learning outcome, pedagogical methods, etc. in order to offer a more hopeful future.
Taken for granted that academics play a crucial role in the transformation of society, we have decided that the theme for ZEALAND’s- international week should be “Embedding sustainability into existing curriculum”.
The week aims at providing a common ground and platform for best practices and identifying possible areas of mutual interest for future cooperation, projects, research and initiatives. By looking and investigating how higher education institutions, in various countries are dealing with the sustainability challenge, we hope to inspire and provide a solid basis for how ZEALAND and its partner institutions, in cooperation can integrate and disseminate sustainability in higher education.
Join us in achieving great things!
